Essay Contest
8 cash awards for High School students
This annual essay contest offers eight cash awards, totaling $12,000, for compelling entries written by high school juniors and seniors in Kansas public schools.
Entry Deadline. Submit essay to be postmarked or delivered to a Hancock Lodge #311 representative no later than Sunday, November 1, 2015. If mailing to the lodge, the address is Hancock Lodge #311, Attn: Essay Contest, Post Office Box 3408, Fort Leavenworth, KS 66027
Winners. All winners will be notified prior to March 1,2016. The Title Page must therefore be legible.
Title Page (Entry Form). Download and print the Title Page. See Essay Contest Question and Rules page for additional details.
Essay Topic. The question to be answered is “How does your personal involvement in serving others make a positive impact, whether in your community, your nation, or your world?”
Method of Submission. The Title Page and Essay (original and one copy) must be delivered in paper form either in person to a representative listed below or by US postal mail to the mailing address above.
Presentation of Awards. All students who enter the contest, their families and friends are welcome to attend the award and recognition ceremony to be held on the evening of Thursday, March 3, 2016. The winners will read their essays and receive their awards. More information to be provided via this web site and via mail to the entrants in early 2016.
