Want to be part of history?  Plan to be at the Kansas Statehouse in Topeka the morning of Friday, March 18, 2016 when Sen. Bro. Bob Dole, and hundreds of Masons, family members, elected state, city and local leaders, TV and radio stations gather for a spectacular ceremony re-enacting the dedication of the capitol cornerstone laid 150 years ago.  This event is in conjunction with the 160th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of A. F. & A. M. of Kansas which will be held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.

The Annual Communication has become the premier Masonic event in Kansas attracting over 400 attendees and growing.  This year will be the best ever with huge announcements to be made.  You’ll be very proud to be a Mason or a member of our fraternal family.

Hancock Lodge is once again being asked to be a major player as so many of its members are key contributors in Masonry in lodge, in our district, at Grand Lodge (take a look at the new Grand Lodge web site cover photo!), and in appendant bodies throughout the state.

Visit to Mount Olive #3 – Tonight 11/24

On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, join the Worshipful Master, officers and brethren of Hancock Lodge #311 A. F. & A. M. as they visit in numbers with Mount Olive Lodge #3 F. & A. M. of Leavenworth, Kansas.  The two lodges have enjoyed close fraternal ties and this is our opportunity to reciprocate W:. Bro.  Walter McCullum’s October visit to Hancock Lodge.

Mount Olive meets at the Leavenworth Masonic Hall, 423 Delaware St., Leavenworth.  The meeting will start at 6:30 pm with a meal and fellowship to follow.  Traditionally, Prince Hall lodge dress code is black suit.  Please wear a black or dark suit when visiting.  If you have not been to lodge in a while, please arrive at Mount Olive Lodge #3 by 6:15 pm in order to sign in.

Mount Olive #3 meets in the historic Leavenworth Masonic Building.  It was originally built as a self-supporting Masonic center and is an interesting Masonic landmark.  If  you have never been in the building, now is your chance to take a look.

Grand Lodge Launches New Web Site

Grand Lodge unveiled the new Grand Lodge web site at Leadership Academy V on October 31st.  The first thing that you’ll notice is that five Hancock Lodge #311 brothers appear on the main page.  That’s 45% of the total number of brothers in the picture.  Very impressive, brothers.

The web site now has a log in feature.  Once logged in, you’ll be able to see a drop-down list of resources available to you based on your membership and office(s) held.  You’ll need information on your Dues Card and the password you are already familiar with for the initial log in.  Test it out and download the latest version of The Kansas Mason magazine just out on news stands coast to coast.

Many thanks to R:. W:. Mikel Stoops of Desoto #40 for the excellent upgrade to an already good looking site.  I think you’ll find he has completed a much needed re-organization and refreshing of content.

Also take a look at the web site to see what else you may have missed if you did not attend LA V.
