Annual Communication Online Registration Open

GLKS-160th-ButtonThe link to get more information and register to attend the 160th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of A. F. & A. M. of Kansas was launched on Friday, January 29th.

Our Grand Secretary, M:. W:. Tracy Bloom, notes, “Please do not fill out an online registration form if you have already submitted a paper registration or if you have received a personal letter from our office about the 160th Annual Communication.”

If you haven’t done so already, your priority would be to get a room reserved either at the Capitol Plaza or Ramada.  Because of the Statehouse Dedication event and the special guests coming, this will be the event you will not want to miss, but rooms are filling fast.

His column was broken and his brethren mourn.

Brother Harry Louis Acker, Jr passed in Olathe, Kansas on January 21st, 2016. Brother Acker was born February 21st, 1944. He was a member of Hancock Lodge 311 since 1977, having been raised to Master Mason on November 15th of that year. Brother Harry served as the Junior Steward in 1978. Brother Harry was awarded his 25 years of Service pin in 2002.

A Masonic service took place Thursday, 28 January 2016.  Six brothers attended with Brother Steve Songer, Easton Lodge #45 performing the Masonic Service.  Only the family and a few friends were present.  They were very appreciative of the service.

Mrs. Acker remarked that Brother Harry was very proud of Hancock Lodge and, even though it was often suggested, Brother Harry did not move his membership to a lodge closer to his Olathe home.  He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel, USA, Signal Corps.  He had been unable to attend lodge for many years due to health issues.

W:. Brother Ross Perkins led the delegation which included Brothers James Dahl, Senoir Warden as Chaplain, Ron Pfeiffer, PM, Treasurer, R:. W:. Herb Merrick, PM, Grand Marshal select, M:. W:. Rick Reichert, PGM, PM, and Mrs. Doris Perkins.
