Kansas Masonic Foundation launches New Web Site

kmf-button-2016-largeThe Kansas Masonic Foundation, the philanthropic power-house of Kansas Masonry, has launched a new, more informative, easier-to-navigate web site.  The mid-September launch comes at a time when the 50th Anniversary $20 Million campaign is mid-way through its first year.  The campaign is gathering momentum and both donors and information-seekers have been looking for a site like this one.   “The older site was very pretty, but hard to navigate” said Past Grand Master Rick Reichert.  This new site gets you to the information or contact point much faster”, he said.

Kansas Masons can be very proud of their accomplishments in the Building Kansas 50th Anniversary campaign so far.  Every effort that KMF doe spit the lodges at the center the philanthropic universe and has greatly extended our abilities to improve the lives of Kansans.  The Foundation exists to expand Masoninc Philanthropy in the fields of charitable, educational, and scientific programs. It also supports our effort stop meet our third degree obligations.

Veterans Day Parade

Leavenworth has the largest, oldest and most prestigious Veterans Day Parade west of the Mississippi River.  Masons and their families representing many facets of Masonry participate in numbers including Blue Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Sojourners, Shrine, Job’s Daughters and Order of the Eastern Star are out in numbers.  The parade is on November 11th.
0830 Hours – Assemble to assist Bro. Dan Brown with the trailer and decorations.
0900 Hours – Leavenworth streets are closed along the parade route.
1015 Hours – Parade line-up.   1030 Hours – Parade begins.  Masons are Unit #143.

On Saturday, November 19th, there will be three huge events: District School of Instruction (mandatory for lodge officers), Justice Lodge #457 will be meeting in Boughton Memorial Hall, and the Grand Officers will be conducting a joint Master Masons Degree with the Grand Lodge F. & A. M. of Kansas Prince Hall and Affiliates.

  • District School of Instruction: This event is sponsored by the District Deputy Grand Master for our district and conducted but the Grand Lecturers.  All Master Masons are invited but lodge officers are required to attend.  The school assists lodges with learning and exemplifying the best possible degree work.  New and seasoned Masons always learn new dimension of their work and improve themselves in Masonry.  Event is at Active Lodge #158, 121 1/2 N 5th St, Atchison, KS 66002.  Doors open at 0800 hours.  Instruction begins prompts at 0900 hours with a roll call of lodge officers.

    Justice Lodge #457 is an Affinity Lodge made of current and former Law Enforcement Officers and Prosecutors who conduct their lodge in the Ancient Form.  This is a special meeting be for the installation of officers of Justice Lodge.  Deputy Grand Master Cole Presley will be the Installing Officer.  Our own Bro. Rick Reichert will be the incoming Justice Lodge Worshipful Master.  Bro. Cole was Rick’s appointment to the Grand Lodge line and in March, Rick will be installing Cole as Grand Master.  The meeting will be after an open luncheon, place TBA.

  • Joint A. F. & A. M. and F. & A. M. (PHA) Grand Lodges of Kansas will be conducting a joint raising of a Master Mason at Wyandotte Lodge #3 in Kansas City Kansas.  The first-ever event of its kind in Kansas.  Meal at 1800 Hours (Reservation Required – See below).  Lodge at 1900 Hours.

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

There will be a Hancock Lodge Pancake Fundraiser at Boughton Memorial Hall on Saturday, November 26th from 0700-1100 Hours.  Volunteers are welcome to help serve.  All brothers are asked to sell tickets.  Tickets will be made available starting at the October 6th Stated Meeting.  This is Thanksgiving weekend but we expect that there will still be plenty of folks on Post to come.  Key is getting the word out.  See the Fort Leavenworth Lamp for more information.   Contact Bro. Agenda Set for 2nd September Stated

Brothers:  Hopefully, all three investigating committees are ready to report so we can ballot tonight.  Also on the docket is the preparation for the Grand Master’s Official Visit scheduled for October 6th.
The Dinner Reservation form is now online.  I am planning to serve a choice of meatloaf or pineapple chicken.  Please make your reservation as soon as possible and no later than the end of September.

M:. W:. Lyn E. Beyer Grand Master 2016-2017

Enjoy a feast and some pageantry when Grand Master Lyn E. Beyer makes his official visit to Hancock Lodge on the evening of October 6, 2016.  This is the night of our first Stated Meeting of October, but we’ll be meeting at 1800 Hours (6:00 p.m.) for dinner.  A dinner reservation is required.  Register below.

Since Hancock Lodge #311 is a jewel in this Grand Jurisdiction, we’ll see a lot of Grand Lodge officers in the Grand Master’s entourage.  In addition to being a ‘grand’ event to watch, we’ll need many brothers to help escort the Grand Lodge officers into the lodge.  Definitely plan to be there.  The Grand Master will present 25, 50 and 60 year service awards.

The dinner is $14 per person which will be definitely worth the cost and will cover meal and service.  Reservation is not complete until you do both steps (1. Register and 2. Pay) below.
